FEA produces and markets its wood fibre products through SmartFibre Pty Ltd (SmartFibre Bell Bay); a modern export woodchip facility located at Bell Bay in North-East Tasmania. SmartFibre Pty Ltd is jointly owned by FEA Ltd and Elders Limited and was established in September 2003.

SmartFibre Bell Bay exports eucalypt hardwood and softwood woodchips to pulp and paper manufacturing customers in North-East Asia. SmartFibre wood fibre products are used to produce some of the world’s finest quality paper and paper board.The SmartFibre Bell Bay mill site is certified to ISO14001 and currently produces and exports on average 350,000 tonnes of wood fibre per annum.

SmartFibre Bell Bay sources its wood supplies from a number of sources including FEA, the Tasmanian State Government, private tree farmers, sawmill residues and native regrowth forest. SmartFibre Pty Ltd is a certified holder of a Chain of Custody (COC) under the Australian Forestry Standard.
